Why Southampton dogs need something specific

Helping Southampton dogs reach their potential

Southampton sees a particularly high number of working and high drive breeds, alongside dogs needing support with reactivity, resource guarding and confidence. For dogs with plenty of drive, we focus on engagement, impulse control, boundaries and learning how to settle, helping them channel that energy into something productive.

We also work extensively with dogs displaying more challenging behaviours. Rather than simply focusing on the behaviour you can see, our trainers look at what is driving it and tailor the training to the individual dog, building practical, sustainable progress that owners can understand and continue at home.

What we work on most here

  • High drive and working breed training
  • Reactivity and impulse control
  • Resource guarding and boundary work
  • Confidence building for nervous or insecure dogs

Can you help with recall around New Forest ponies and livestock?

Recall around distractions is covered from our Standard course upwards. We build it in stages, from quiet paddocks to real distractions, and show you how to keep it going at the handover. For dogs that chase, we also teach you safe management, such as a long line, while the recall beds in.

How much does residential dog training cost in Southampton?

The same as at all our centres: from £745 per week, fully inclusive, with a non-refundable deposit to secure your dates.

Does my dog need to be vaccinated?

Yes. In line with UK law, any dog staying at a kennels must be checked in with proof of up-to-date vaccinations. Please bring your dog’s vaccination record: without it, we cannot accept your dog onto the course.

Do I really get a lifetime of training and support?

Quite simply, yes. Any dog that has attended one of our residential courses is entitled to a lifetime of free support from our team. After a 5-day stay that is digital support by email or phone; after 10 days or more it includes one-to-one sessions back at the facility with your trainer. Compare that with a few sessions with a local trainer.
